Everybody sings and dances in Barranda

The last Sunday of January, the small Murica village of Barranda (near Caravaca de la Curz), multiplied by 25 its thousand inhabitants during an interesting party. What began three decades ago as a Regional Festival of String Music to preserve local traditions, has been gaining prominence over the years. Evereyone in the village is proud that this party has been recognized as being National of Tourist Interest.During this festival, musicians and groups from different parts of Spain take over the streets of the town to play and dance their parts. The peculiarity of this celebration is that anyone can get up to dance, or even, get on stage with the musicians.
In addition, during these festivities, you can enjoy the Crafts and Traditions Market or discover recipes and taste local wines as well as visit the Museum of Ethnic Music.
